Five years ago was not so long ago.

I remembered it. While everyone was leaving KSA, I was going there. This was because, during that time, I needed a job, desperately. I worked there for a little over two years - on a tourist Visa. Yes, a tourist Visa in KSA!

I remembered it because exactly a week after I arrived, the news says, the American forces were in Iraq. We, or at least I, expected a strong resistance from Saddam Hussein and expected the invasion would take months. But it lasted - only days.

Where is Gold - Part V

To be honest with you, if you followed me with Gold (on leveraged trading) - you could have pocketed a huge amount of dollars by now!

Ok, take my post last March 27, 2007, and in that post I said:

Despite the sideways movement of gold prices, I still feel very much bullish on this metal in the long term. Gold for April delivery closed down $1.40 at $662.50.

In my opinion, this is a good buy. I would buy, and sit on it for the rest of the year. My target is at least double its current price.

My reasoning for doing this - is something I cannot post, a gut feeling, and a dream.

Hong Kong gold prices closed at $1,024.50-$1,025 an ounce on Monday, up from Friday's finish of $995.00-$995.50, dealers said.

It opened at $1,002.00-$1,003.00 an ounce.

A Million Pesos a Year from Blogging

Well, I just check my Paypal to move some of my earnings to my bank account. Because I was curious how much I earned for this year...I calculated them all...and presto, I earned 1,500 dollars on average from January to February.

Here is a screen shot of payments received from sponsors (I still have around 450 dollars pending payments). This is excluding payments I received through Pre-paid VISA cards. The total of the screen shot is 1,340 US dollars, and if I include the pending payments, and pre-paid card payments, it would equal to 2,200 US dollars.

Also, I earned around 1,000 dollars from adsense from January 1 to March 11. Overall, converted to pesos at 40:1; I earned more than 120K pesos from January until today. I reckon that if things go well for me this year, I could possibly bank 600 to 750 thousand pesos from blogging for the whole year of 2008.

But for next year...I will target the magic number of "1 million pesos a year" from blogging.

Now..do not flame me guys, Or I will post the screen shots here, hehehe.

Where is the Peso going?

This is, I guess, a very good question. I am asking this so that I will know whether to keep my moolah in Pesoses, or in US dollars. Back in 2005, I turned most of my US dollars to Pesos when it was at 55 something. Indeed, a good gain when the Peso moved to around 40 the past months.

There are signs now that the US government, and various Central banks all over the world, are doing something to prop up the US dollars. Yesterday, the Peso moved to its highest for the past few weeks - now to 41.30.

My guiding questions are:

1. Do you believe that the Peso can move to 35 to the dollar? I don't think so. Not this year or in the near future.

2. Do you believe the Peso is overvalued and can possibly moved to 45 in a few months or next year? I believe so.

So, I am moving my Pesoses now to US dollar, actually preferably, to Yuan or Dinar (Qatari), or Saudi Riyal.

On the news today from PDI:

Economic growth will fall sharply this year due to an overvalued peso and businesses who fail to re-invest their profits, a Manila-based think-tank said Wednesday.

After gross domestic product (GDP) struck a 31-year high with growth of 7.3 percent in 2007 and inflation at a 20-year low of 2.8 percent, the Philippine Institute of Development Studies said growth would fall.

It forecast GDP growth this year should drop to 5.9 percent with inflation rising up to 5.2 percent.

Institute president, Josef Yap, said the Philippines was suffering from "Dutch Disease," as characterized by a shrinking manufacturing sector and a sharply appreciating peso.

"That's a sign of trouble ahead," he said.
