Congressman Manny Pacquiao

Congratulations to congressional candidate Manny Pacquiao in winning over Mexican rival Jorge Solis. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.

On similar topic: I have read a lot about people against Manny running for Congressman. Well..let me post it here: I will rather vote for Manny than Darlene. Ano ba nagawa ni Darlene? In Congress and to the people in South Cotabato?

I saw Manny's interview and I saw his sincerity in helping his people in South Cotabato, what's wrong with that? Education? Goodness...kaya nga nagkakaluko luko ang Kongreso natin dahil sa marami ang matatalino at magagaling...ngumawa ng ngumawa!

Let him be. Let us see what he can do in Congress...we might be surprised.

Going Diving

My last dive was last year in KSA, in one of the resorts near Al Khobar. The dive was to justify the expansion/reclamation project of one of the Saudi billionaires located on that exclusive site. That resort has amazing wildlife inside its compound and it included girrafes, horses, dolphins, huge groupers among others.

This time (the plan), I am diving in one of the most beautiful places on earth, on Eastern Visayas, in the Philippines. I have been there once, way back in 2002, and most of the areas are covered with 100% hard and soft corals, and with amazing underwater wildlife. That place is the Biri Group of islands in Northern Samar. Samar has many beautiful places that can easily be developed into profitable tourist destinations, but the downside is the insurgency i.e., the security of visitors and tourists, if you know what I mean.

Now going diving, we have to have a checklist of what we need to prepare and bring. Here is what I found on the net:

1) Important ID and Documents

Personal Identification (i.e. your driver’s license)
Certification card (C-card)
Dive log and pen
Dive tables
Gear checklist

2) Scuba Gear Checklist

Gear Bag
Mask
Snorkel and keeper
Fins
Booties, gloves and hood
Wetsuit
Weights and weight belt
BCD – Buoyancy Compensator Device
Regulator and Alternate/Secondary Regulator (octopus)
Air Tank
Alternate Air Source
Dive Knife
Dive Light ( This I will escape, I do not have plans for a night dive)
Dive Flag
Underwater Camera ( I will forget about this, I flooded two cameras before)
Dive Watch
Dive Computer

3. Accomodation.

Enjoy the summer!

Rare, wild breed, Patani Chicken

I was invited last Thursday to a river resort inside the guts of the island of Leyte. One of the guests was from a moutain somewhere in the island and he brought for the group cooked rare, wild breed, Patani Chicken. The meat was black, the taste extremely good. The chicken was believed to withstand common diseases like "tukwaw" among others.

After the event, I asked my brothers and friends if they have seen or tasted a Patani Chicken - and not one answered in the affirmative. So, I asked my mother, if in her 70 years, had she tasted a Patani Chicken - and she said yes...40 years ago and the meat was black.

I have searched the internet about this Patani Chicken - and I cannot find any substantial information, or maybe I am just using the wrong keyword.

Anyhow...I will embark for a travel to visit the place where this chicken was found, and I am interested of getting a photo, and behavioural description to post on this blog.

Let us wait...what I will come up. If you have any information about this chicken, please post a link or email me.
