Updates (USA) - crude prices, home sales and immigration

Crude prices rose above 85 US dollars yesterday as strong sales of new US homes boosted investor confidence on the US economic recovery. The Commerce Department said that new home sales rose 27 percent in March, rebounding from the previous month's record low and blowing past expectations. The data boosted the outlook for energy demand.

Probably the up cycle would start again, hehehe, and afterwards - a repeat of bust - as always.

Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the toughest illegal immigration bill in the country into law on Friday, aimed at identifying, prosecuting and deporting illegal immigrants.

The law, which opponents and critics alike said was the broadest and strictest immigration measure in the country in generations, would make the failure to carry immigration documents a crime. It would also give the police broad power to detain anyone suspected of being in the country illegally. Opponents have decried it as an open invitation for harassment and discrimination against Hispanics regardless of their citizenship status.
