How to cope with the rising Peso?

Ok, your husband, who had been an OFW for years was sending you 800 dollars a month. It used to be equivalent to 44,200 pesos, but today with exchange rate around 40:1 dollar, you now get just around 32,000 pesos; a loss of over 12,000 pesos a month. I know 12,000 pesos is a lot. But, what can you do?

I suggest you do the following:

1. Ask more from your husband. If this is not possible then go to number 2.
2. Reduce expenses and cut costs. Eat less in restaurants, buy fewer Coffee from Starbucks, do not go the movie often as before, do not use your car frequently, use the MRT. All I am saying is, change your lifestyle. Adjust.
3. Budget the money well. Pay the bills first. Turn off lights when not needed. Turn off the faucet. Do not use washing machine all the time - exercise your hands. etc.
4. Do not get a loan so you can maintain you current life style. Doing so would create more problems in the future.
5. Find a job, or make a sideline income.

What else can you do? Just try to save, and save.
